Dirty Eyes

from Denial by Violentene

/

about

Lush, swirling melodies written on the Fender Bass VI combine with shimmering, angular 80's alternative and Dani Mari's sweet, soulful and ethereal voice.
The songs were originally written as an homage/extension of the emotion in the Cures immortal "Disintigration" album and 90s shoegazers Slowdive and Curve, but interestingly a whole new voice was born from these common vibes in the "Denial" EP.

lyrics

I can see you look at me
As I swallow up all your pride
Like a hawk that's guiding me
Into the night

You say your half over everything
Fill your body with lost control
You were never true to anything
Hallways filled with untold cries

Took a chance you tried to leave
Couldn't swing it on your own
Now you live in emptiness
You were better off alone

Lost your pride when you gave away
Promises to fill you up
They were never made of anything
You were never in control

In control
In control
In control
In control

Your dirty eyes
I see
Your dirty eyes
Hear my voice
Erase the choice
Erase the choice

Stand in silence
